BOSTON (WHDH) - College students begin moving into college Wednesday and Thursday this week, and the city of Boston has announced several traffic and parking restrictions in the area.

In addition, State Police warn students not to travel down Storrow Drive with moving trucks, as the clearance is too low for many.

Allston/Brighton: Temporary Traffic Restrictions

(For Wednesday, Aug. 31, and Thursday, Sept. 1)

“ONE-WAY”:

  • Brainerd Road, between Walbridge Street and Gorham
  • Walbridge Street, between Brainerd Road and Commonwealth Avenue

“NO RIGHT TURN”:

  • Ashford Street at Pratt Street, requiring vehicles exiting Pratt Street at Ashford Street to only take a left turn on Ashford Street towards Malvern Street
  • Ashford Street at Ashford Court, requiring vehicles exiting Ashford Court to take a left turn on Ashford Street at Malvern Street
  • Ashford Street at Hartley Terrace, requiring existing Hartley Terrace to take a left turn on Ashford Street toward Malvern Street
  • Sawyer Terrace at Ashford Street requiring vehicles exiting Sawyer Terrace at Ashford to only take a left turn on Ashford St. towards Malvern Street.
  • Brainerd Road at Feneno Terrace, requiring vehicles exiting Feneno Terrace to turn left onto Brainerd Road toward Walbridge Street
  • #60 Brainerd Road, requiring vehicles exiting #60 Brainerd Road parking area to turn left onto Brainerd Road

“NO RIGHT TURN” AND “DO NOT ENTER”:

  • Commonwealth Avenue at Walbridge Street

“NO LEFT TURN”:

  • Brainerd Road at Redford Street, requiring vehicles coming down Redford Street from Commonwealth Avenue to turn right onto Brainerd Road towards Walbridge Street
  • Brainerd Road at Griggs Street, requiring vehicles coming down Griggs Street from Commonwealth Avenue to turn right onto Brainerd Road towards Walbridge Street

“NO LEFT TURN” AND “DO NOT ENTER”:

  • Ashford Street at Chester Street, requiring vehicles exiting Chester Street to only take a right turn toward Malvern Street
  • Pratt Street at Wadsworth Street, blocking access to Pratt Street towards Linden Street and requiring vehicles traveling on Pratt Street from Ashford Street to turn right onto Wadsworth Street
  • Chester Street at Gardner Street requiring vehicles exiting Chester St. to only take a right turn on Gardner St. towards Malvern Street
  • Brainerd Road at Walbridge Street, requiring vehicles coming down Brainerd Road from Kelton Street to turn left on Walbridge Street

  • Expect heavy traffic volume on all streets in Mission Hill including Huntington Avenue, Tremont Street, and Columbus Avenue.
