Darn storm is still with us early this morning as spokes of light rain swirl around the storm center well offshore. The light rain/drizzle are with us early in the day but will slowly fade away by the afternoon. What a storm though as much of the region was pummeled with rain & wind. The rain totals were impressive (if not overwhelming) as many rain gauges finished up with 3-5″ of rain. That’s two powerhouse rain storms in just 8 days. for the month of October, Boston has picked up 5.76″ and when you compare that to September when the city only picked up .7″ that’s quite the turnaround.
Once we shed this last band of rain around midday we can focus on some decent fall weather for the weekend as High Pressure settles in for a few days. Saturday is the nicer of the two days with mostly sunny skies & temps reaching the mid 60s (above normal)! Sunday is still dry but there will be a gusty northwest wind developing by noon and that will keep afternoon temps in the upper 50s (normal). Good weather for the Pats game against Da Bears.
A quick look into early next week reveals a warming trend with dry weather. Sunshine should boost temps up near 70 by Tuesday-Wednesday. Cooling off as we near Halloween though.
