A trial date has been set for the man accused of killing nine people in a Charleston, South Carolina church in June.

The trial for Dylann Roof will begin July 11, 2016.

Roof faces nine counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder and other weapons charges.

Roof was in court on Thursday morning.

Roof will remain in custody.

The 21-year-old confessed to the church shooting.
