MARTHA'S VINEYARD, Mass. (WHDH) — The Wampanoag tribe intended to open a casino on Martha's Vineyard.
The casino would be located on the tribal land in Aquinnah. The tribe had planned to open the casino within months. State officials however, said the tribe does not have the right to build a casino on the land.
The tribal leaders released a legal analysis earlier this week that stated federal officials noted the tribe never gave up its right.
