BOSTON (WHDH) - The National Hurricane Center has issued a Tropical Storm Watch for parts of New England.

The regions affected include parts of southern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the islands and southern Rhode Island. 7News Meteorologist Rob Eicher said a Tropical Storm Watch means the region could see winds stronger than 39 miles per hour over the next 48 hours.

Hermine is expected to make its way up the East Coast before stalling just south of Long Island Sunday evening. While New England may not see a lot of rain at the start of next week, strong winds are possible.
