WASHINGTON (WHDH) - Air travelers without a proper ID could soon face a fee.

The TSA announced a new identity verification system called TSA Confirm ID that will require those without a Real ID or passport to pay a $45 fee.

Those individuals would then have 10 days to travel with the alternative ID.

The program starts on February 1.
