The friend of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is set to be released from prison.

Azamat Tazhayakov will be released from a Kentucky prison on Thursday.

He was convicted of helping Tsarnaev evade police after the 2013 bombings.

He also removed a backpack full of fireworks and a computer thumb driver from Tsarnaev’s dorm room.

After his release, he will be taken into custody while officials hope to deport him back to Kazahkstan.

Two other classmates were convicted of conspiracy for helping Tsarnaev.

They will not be released until 2018.
