Two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Dorchester high school student in early June.

The shooting happened near the Jeremiah Burke High School on June 8.

Raekwon Brown, 17, died at the scene. Two other teens and a woman in her 60s were hit by bullets.

On Wednesday, police arrested Jonathan Aguasvivas, 23 of Roxbury, and Benzy Bain, 24 of Mattapan on murder charges.

According to police, more charges could be forthcoming.

“There’s way too many guns on the street, in the hands of young kids,” said Boston Police Commissioner William Evans. “This is a sad day, when a 17-year-old life is lost, we should be outraged and we should be stepping up.”

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said Brown was in school earlier in the day and was shot half a block from the school.

Aguasvivas and Bain were arraigned in Dorchester District Court Wednesday and were held without bail.

Both will return to court on July 26.
