Two men were robbed Wednesday while they were playing the popular new smartphone game Pokemon Go.

Police responded to Stockton and Cornhill Streets Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery of a person.

When officers arrived, they talked to two men, a 22-year-old and a 25-year-old. According to the 25-year-old, he and his friend were sitting in his car when they were approached by two men and robbed at gunpoint.

The man said he and his friend were playing Pokemon Go and ended up on Stockton Street as the game progressed.

The victims said they saw a car drive past them on several occasions while they were stopped at an intersection.

The suspect’s car, a grey sedan, parked a short distance away from them and two men approached the victims’ car.

According to police, the first man approached the passenger side, reached in and took the keys out of the ignition. The other suspect approached the driver’s side and pointed a gun at the driver.

The 25-year-old victim handed the suspect his handgun and cash.

Police are now searching for the suspects.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
