CANTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Two people were arrested after an alleged drunk driving crash and assault in Canton.
On Tuesday night around 8 p.m., Canton police officers responded to a car off the road on Mechanic Street.
As a result of the crash, police arrested the driver for operating under the influence of liquor.
As officers investigated the crash, a small crowd gathered, police said.
The passenger of the car then got into an altercation with someone in the crowd, during which officers saw an assault happen.
The passenger was then arrested for assault and battery, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.
A third person will be summoned to court for assault and battery.
