MALDEN, MASS. (WHDH) - An Uber driver was arrested after police said he robbed and assaulted an elderly passenger with disabilities in Malden.
Prosecutors said 21-year-old Wilson Brea went to the woman’s house to pick her up Monday night. He allegedly said to the woman, “Sorry, I’m going to have to take this,” and grabbed her handbag and a bag of medicine. When the woman tried to stop him, police said he shoved her. The woman did not want to go on camera Tuesday but she told 7News that she is doing OK.
Brea allegedly got away with hundreds of dollars in cash and credit cards. Police arrested him Tuesday.
This is the third incident involving an Uber driver in the area. Monday, a 28-year-old driver was in court, accused of exposing himself to young women in Malden and Everett. Earlier in August, another Uber driver was charged with raping a teenage girl in Everett after she called for a ride.
Brea is due back in court in September.
