Did you see this on Fallon recently? ———————————————————–>
I find it so funny, and so appropriate. Old Ma Nature will be keeping us on our toes this week, for sure! So my response to Mother Nature is, "That’s why I wear layers. I’ll see your morning jacket, and raise you a tank top in the afternoon!" Layers of clothing are perfect for days like today; starting of COLD (mid 30s for Norwood and even Martha’s Vineyard) and then warming quickly to near 70 this afternoon. A jacket is needed early on, but you won’t want it later!
This is PERFECT weather for the leaves to really pop with brilliant color. The sunny afternoons help the leaves produce sugar, and the cold mornings are a cue for the leaves to hold on to that sugar – producing fall colors. Keep your eyes out for that this week. Peak color has been running a bit late this year, but now it’s sort of turning all at once.
A few clouds will be moving through today, but ultimately the sun will win out for another bright day. Yesterday was beautiful, with highs around 60… Today will be even better, with highs around 70… and tomorrow will be the "main event" of this temp boost, with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Soak it up while it’s here, because there are some big changes in store for us the end of next week… #wellcrossthatbridgewhenwegetthere
Under the influence of high pressure and a SW flow, tonight will not be as cold as last night. Expect mostly clear skies and temps in the mid 40s to the mid 50s for the City of Boston. No worries for the plants tonight. Mr. Tomato Plant can live to see another couple of days (provided you brought him in last night).
Next chance for showers will be Tuesday. While we’ll still warm into the low 70s, clouds will be hanging around throughout the day and isolated showers are looking likely. It doesn’t look like a lot of rain, but there’s some residual moisture from a storm system to our south moving north – and there’s a cool front that pushes through later in the day. Both events will be a shot at some showers. After that cool front pushes through, some much cooler air will be gradually settling in. I mentioned on Twitter today that the crown of Maine got a little snow last night – and many in the "Twitterverse" started a witch hunt for me because I mentioned the "S-word." HEY GUYS, I’m just the messenger!! But that sn*w (I’ll bleep out the word for your protection) might make it a little farther south next weekend – and it looks like the growing season will be coming to an end for most (if not all) of us in New England.
If you can figure out a way to bottle up the 70° temps tomorrow, let me know! Or… just enjoy. I know I will. – Breezy
