A coating of snow yesterday morning was my task at hand and today it’s How Warm Can We Get This Afternoon? Meanwhile on the back burner is a storm heading this way tomorrow that drags arctic air back in here. Springtime In New England. Love it!

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, we have a fantastic early spring day ahead with a mix of sun & clouds and soaring temps. I think most towns easily reach the low 50s and there will be some overachievers with some towns flirting with 60 this afternoon. Early spring can be a tease along the coastline if you don’t have a west wind as that chilly sea breeze like to crash the warmth party but today there won’t be a chilly sea breeze so coastal cities & towns including Boston reach the mid 50s. Enjoy!

Tomorrow the temps aren’t as warm and there isn’t any sun either. Not a good start to this paragraph, huh? Our next storm takes aim on New England but for us in southern New England, we’ll be on the warm side of the storm so plan on rain showers developing early afternoon & lasting right into the night. It gets tricky late in the night as the storm begins to depart. Cold air will be in northern New England (Ski country will get 12-18″) for the storm and as the storm exits the region it will drag some cold air into southern New England for a few hours. That means some accumulating snow is likely outside of I-495 and along/north of Rt.2 plan on at least 3″ of snow and much more up across interior New Hampshire. For metro Boston just a coating is expected by early Thursday morning. Thursday itself sees the temps crash from the upper 30s early in the day down into the teens by evening. Springtime in New England.
