U.S. troops had a Christmas celebration overseas Friday.

The men and women enjoyed a special holiday meal at a military base in Kuwait.

Their Deputy Commanding General of Operations was one of many people serving them on Christmas Day, as a gesture to recognize the troops for their service.

"It’s important to go out, and many of these soldiers have been deployed multiple times during Christmas holidays and other holidays, so again we just want to thank them for their services and really tell them we appreciate what they do for our army and really for our nation," Major General William Hickman said. "It’s important, too, for our nation."

The troops were deployed to Kuwait to provide support for the fight against ISIS.
