SEATTLE  (NBC) — Amazon has revealed long-awaited details on its new physical grocery store concept called “Amazon Go” that elimates checkout lines and cash registers.

Customers would use the Amazon App to enter and shop in the store.

All groceries customers pick up would be automatically added to virtual shopping carts.

If a person changes their mind and puts something back on the shelf, the cart would automatically update with what Amazon calls “Just Walk Out” technology.

The customer can walk right out the door when they are done shopping, without waiting in a checkout line.

Upon exiting, technology adds up the cost of items in the virtual cart and charges the customer’s Amazon account.

The first Amazon Go store is located in Seattle and open to Amazon employees who are testing the concept.

Amazon says it will open to the public in early 2017.
