KEY LARGO, FL (WHDH) — Five stranded spinner dolphins were rescued near Key Largo, Florida, on Saturday.
Four were found north of Islamorada in the Florida Bay.
A fifth was discovered in the bay, just off lower Matecumbe Key.
All showed signs of dehydration and were taken to two separate facilities for treatment.
Rescue officials believe Hurricane Hermine may have pushed the dolphins from their normal deep water habitats.
There are reports that other dolphins may be stranded in the same area where the first four were found.
A request has been made to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to conduct a search over the area
Sunday morning.
