NEW YORK (AP) — President-elect Donald Trump is calling on the government to cancel a multibillion-dollar order for two new presidential planes.

Trump tweeted an inflated cost of $4 billion for two of the aircraft. Boeing, the plane’s maker, says its $170 million contract covers years of research and development to build what it calls “complex military aircraft that serve the unique requirements of the president of the United States.”

Donald Trump says the government ought to cancel its order for new presidential planes from Boeing — saying the cost is “out of control.”

He tweeted his objections to the deal just 22 minutes after the Chicago Tribune posted a story in which Boeing’s CEO voiced concerns about Trump’s views on trade.

Trump had tweeted three years ago that he was a Boeing stockholder — but today, a spokesman said Trump had sold all of his stock holdings in June.
