A North Carolina veteran had a disrespectful note left on her windshield in a parking lot and posted the note on social media, along with a scathing response.
Rebecca Landis Hayes, a Navy Veteran, said she was on her way home when she realized she had a piece of paper stuck under her windshield wiper.
Thinking someone may have bumped her car, she read the note, which read, “This parking is for veterans, lady, learn to read and have some respect.”
Hayes served eight years in the US Navy, serving as a physician.
She posted a picture of the note on Facebook, along with her story.
“I’m sorry that your narrow misogynistic world view can’t conceive of the fact that there are female veterans,” she said in the post. “I served, did you?”
