A 10-year-old boy who spent more than 24-hours lost in the Utah wilderness was safe, and home Tuesday morning.

The boy, Malachi Bradley, was fishing with his father Sunday at Paul Lake when he wandered off alone to find wild mushrooms.

Bradley spent the night in the cold woods, "I had to keep switching positions because of the wind kept switching so."

Searchers from six countries, the Ute tribe, the Utah State Department of Public Safety, and several volunteer groups searched for more than 24 hours.

A search party member said, "We were tasked to think like a 10-year-old would so that’s why we were trying to formulate a plan to make sure we are covering all the areas that we think he may have gone."

Bradley and the men who found him were greeted with cheer and hugs, especially from the boy’s mother, Molly Chrisman.

She said "His spirits are up so that’s good and he is going to be ok which is the bottom line. That is super exciting. Oh so exciting. Such a relief."
