Members of the Roxbury community attended a vigil outside the home of a 3-year-old boy, who died in the hospital on Tuesday.
A memorial with candles and pictures was set up in remembrance of the toddler.
Officers responded to a trauma call on Sunday at the home, and found the boy unresponsive when they got there.
DCF had checked in with a care worker a couple of days earlier and were told there were no problems.
An investigation is ongoing.
