BOSTON (WHDH) - The city of Boston is prepping for winter weather.

Mayor Marty Walsh said the city has purchased extra salt and two new snowblowers in preparation for this winter.

The 48-hour rule for space savers will still apply across the city.

Mayor Walsh stressed the importance of looking out for the homeless and elderly when temperatures drop.
