CLARKSVILLE, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire game wardens believe alcohol played a role in an all-terrain vehicle crash that seriously injured two people in Clarksville.

Wardens say a helicopter airlifted a 22-year-old man from Hillsborough, New Hampshire, to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment Sunday evening. His passenger was being treated at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook.

The injuries to both were described a serious but not life threatening.

Wardens say the operator lost control on a gravel road, throwing himself and his passenger off the ATV. Neither was wearing helmets.

Wardens say the crash is under investigation and that charges are likely.
