Mid December and we have wind gusts over 30 mph and likely to see gusts near 40mph. If I didn’t know anything else about today’s weather (on this date) i would say.."wow—sounds like one heck of a blizzard!" Nope….temps have been up near 60 early today as a rainstorm takes shape up in the Gulf Of Maine.

It is what it is, in the sense of rain & warmth here in December. Happened last year as well when Boston had warmer than normal temps and we picked up nearly 7" of rain…..then a month later the snow blitz happened. I think we have a similar fate this year—winter cold (then snow) not arriving until sometime in January but unlike last winter….no snow blitz this go-around.

Today offers windy conditions behind that storm as most towns see wind gusts over 30 mph later today and even a few gusts between 40-50mph during the afternoon. Some minor power disruption is likely—better tie down inflatable Frosty & Santa as well. Some sun at times will cheer for you on Taco Tuesday.

Cooler weather tomorrow with more clouds than sun and again on Thursday with rain showers back into New England by Thursday afternoon.

As of now, Christmas looks warm & wet. 50s & 60s for high temps.
