Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren says she doesn’t think she’s running for president in in 2016, a shift from her usual script.

The liberal favorite typically answers the question by saying, “I am not running for president.” But when she was asked again by People magazine, she answered, “I don’t think so.”

The latest response has touched off new speculation about her future.

But Warren’s team says nothing has changed.

The first-term senator has played an active role advocating for Democrats defending their Senate majority in the midterm elections. She is scheduled to campaign this weekend for Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in New Hampshire, home of the nation’s first presidential primary.
