STONEHAM, MASS. (WHDH) - A box truck swerving on I-93 south in Stoneham was caught on dashcam video.
The truck crashed through the median and landed on its side in the northbound lanes.
Another truck tried getting out of the way, but ran over the back end of the truck.
The CEO of Sky Coach & Limousine says one of his drivers had just left Logan Airport with passengers inside, when the crash happened right in front of them.
“They were thankful to have it made home alive. They were coming home from Logan, and I think were all [were] just very shocked that this happened, and it’s crazy.”
The toppled truck shut down multiple lanes of traffic near exit 25 and delayed the Friday evening commute.
SKY7HD was over the scene.
Debris littered the highway and the windshield of one of the trucks was smashed.
An SUV appeared to be damaged as it waited to be put on a tow truck.
EMTs helped two people onto stretchers and into the back of ambulances.
The head of Sky Coach & Limousine says he’s glad the dash camera was rolling.
“It’s not for you, it’s not for us to be like a ‘gotcha.’ It’s to make sure, something like this, we could have been involved in something serious.”
After several hours, both vehicles were towed away and the highway reopened.
The head of the limo company says he’s glad it wasn’t worse for his driver and passengers.
“I cannot say enough good things about our chauffeur. He handled himself well.”
