LOWELL, MASS. (WHDH) - Roads are blocked in Lowell due to a water main break, according to Lowell Police.
The water main break happened sometime before 6:30 a.m. at Middlesex, Green and Williams Streets, Lowell Police reported in a tweet Tuesday morning.
Police ask people avoid the area, which could be blocked until noon. The break caused traffic on Central and Jackson Streets for morning commuters.

The Lowell Community Health Center located on Jackson Street announced it will open late at 10 a.m. because of the water main break.
The damage and cause of the break are unclear at this time.
