BROOKLINE, MASS. (WHDH) - A section of Route 9 was temporarily shut down in Brookline due to a water main break Monday morning.

A detour was put in place between Hammond Pond Parkway and Hammond Street as crews worked on a repair.

Both westbound lanes and one eastbound lane are now reopened to traffic.

No additional information has been released.
