Back at the beginning of the season, Pete Bouchard had some tough words for league commissioner Nicole Oliverio.
"When I play Nicole," Bouchard said, "it’s going to be guns blazing."
Bouchard finally gets his wish this week, as the reigning league champ faces off against Oliverio with plenty on the line – both players enter Week 6 with 2-3 records and a chance to get back to .500.
It’s early, but Bouchard was a 46-point favorite heading as of Friday afternoon. Those projections are before Oliverio replaces a running back on a bye and adds a kicker. Still, the favorite is ready for his matchup this week.
Another matchup may be equally lopsided. Undefeated Tim Caputo takes on Kris Anderson, who has fought his way to a 2-3 record. After Thursday’s games, however, Caputo was up 27 to -1.
In another matchup, though, there could be an upset brewing. Alex Corddry (1-4) rode a big night Thursday by Saints RB Mark Ingram to a 17-12 advantage after the first game of the week against 4-1 Dan Hausle. Corddry is hoping for a continued push to work her way back into the postseason picture.
In other matchups, Joe Amorosino (4-0-1) takes on Trey Daerr (1-4), while Brandon Gunnoe (2-3) has a tight battle brewing against Jeremy Reiner (1-3-1).
