WESTPORT, MASS. (WHDH) - Community members in Westport are urging three people on the town’s board of health to step down.

The demand comes a week after officials discovered hundreds of dead and injured animals on a 70 acre property.

Residents questioned the three board members during a heated meeting Monday night.

They claimed the board of health members were not doing their job to inspect the farms.

The members of the health board say they do not plan on stepping down.

The owner of the farm will face animal cruelty charges.
