Welcome to Wednesday, we’re half way there to the weekend which looks good weather-wise as of now!  While it’s an easy start to this morning with dry conditions, it’ll likely be a wet afternoon/evening ride home from work as we track plenty of rain working up the east coast.  Don’t forget the rain gear walking out the door this morning. To accompany that rain will be a gusty wind and mild air.

While most of us remain dry through the morning commute, a few scattered showers likely arrive outside 495 by 9-10am.  That rain becomes steadier and more widespread by 1pm near/outside 495 and then the press is on from 2-4pm to push that rain toward the coast.  That’ll ensure that many of us see an evening commute.  The rain and wind gusts 30-40mph that settle in late this afternoon will continue into this evening.  Temps warm into the low 50s early this afternoon and then into the upper 50s by this evening!  A temp of 59 in Boston this evening will be good enough to tie a record high for the date.

Most towns pick up about an inch of rain by early tomorrow morning with a few locally higher amounts in downpours overnight.  Thursday does look mainly dry and still mild with temps in the 50s.

We’ll have to watch Thursday night and Friday morning closely.  There will be a front stalled just to our east and as a wave of low pressure rides along it Thursday night and Friday morning, it could throw some rain showers back toward eastern Mass.  As temps cool, those rain showers change to wet snow early Friday morning before tapering off by late morning.  Some minor accumulations are possible across Southeast Mass.

The weekend looks great, low to mid 40s and more sun than clouds.

Next week looks colder for you winter lovers, and perhaps we’ll catch some snow by Tuesday.

Have a great day and stay dry!
