Humidity is about to take charge in the coming days. Dewpoints – what we sometimes use to gauge the humidity – will run in the upper 60s to near 70! The idea being the higher the number the more humid the air.
So we'll sit in the steam bath for two days. Any storms to take a bite out of the humidity? Why yes, there's a chance at a couple of them tomorrow, but our best chance is on Wednesday in Eastern Mass thanks to the arrival of a cool front.
I'm a little shy about giving the green light to widespread storms tomorrow due to the fact that I think they will be way out ahead of the front and likely favoring the higher terrain of Central and Western Mass as well as Southwestern NH and Southern Vermont. With the steering currents very light in the upper atmosphere tomorrow, any storms that form will be crawlers. Prepare for intense rain under these clouds with the possibility of localized flooding,
Relief comes by the end of the week with as a new airmass invades from Ontario and Quebec. Preliminary thoughts on the weekend seem to hint at a return to some sticky air by Sunday.
