A white house staffer was charged with domestic violence after allegedly threatening her boyfriend, a US capitol police officer, with his own gun during an altercation Friday.

Barvetta Singletary, a special assistant to President Obama and House Legislative affairs liaison, confronted her boyfriend about his relationships with other women, according to police.

Singletary initially reached out to the alleged victim to engage in a sexual encounter at her home in Maryland.

Afterward, an argument broke out, during which Singletary demanded passwords from her boyfriend's cell phone.

When he did not comply, she allegedly grabbed the victim's .40 caliber service weapon and fired one round at him.

He fled the scene and called police.

Singletary was arrested and posted $75,000 bail Monday morning.

She has been placed on administrative leave by the White House with her access to the grounds revoked.
