It seems like the Christmas decorations, and the rush for the Holiday season starts earlier and earlier every year, and this year, Mother Nature is doing some early decorating of her own.

Yes, indeed, that is a white ground for many on this Black Friday as periodic light to moderate snow broke out overnight and continues this morning.  While it’s not a huge storm, a general 1-3″ of snow will keep the salter and sanders busy through the morning and provide the need for many of us to brush off the car or clean up the sidewalk and driveway before heading out for those shopping scores.

Snow tapers off mid to late morning, allowing for a dry and cold afternoon.  With clear skies tonight, the temps tumble into the lower 20s in the city and upper single digits and teens in the burbs! Brrrr.

We’ll start Saturday bright and cold with increasing clouds for the afternoon highs hold in the 30s.

Looking for the mild air?  We’ll find it to end the weekend thanks to a warm front that moves through Saturday night.  We may catch a patchy rain or snow shower overnight Saturday, but on the other side of that front…… 50s for Sunday!

Enjoy the friends and family this weekend, and just watch for some slick spots and allow for a little extra travel time this morning.
