An 82-year-old Korean War veteran is thankful after an alert manager stopped him from falling victim to a fraud scheme.
The Whitman man said he received a call telling him he had won $2.5 million on Wednesday,
As a result, the former U.S. Marine went to a Western Union to send $600 to England.
However, an alert manager told the man something was suspicious about the transaction and declined to process it. The manager also reported the suspicious scheme to police.
"I’m on to them now," said the man.
