WILMINGTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Police in Wilmington have advised residents to be on the lookout for a suspicious man that may have made attempts to lure young girls into his car this past week.

According to police, three incidents have been reported, one in Wilmington and two in Reading, that share similarities and are cause for concern.

Three 13-year-old girls escaped into the woods on Van Nordan Road in Reading woods after they were followed by a small white car on July 12. The car was described as low to ground with loud music playing. The car traveled behind them with its lights off until it stopped abruptly and the girls ran into the woods. The girls thought there were multiple people in the car.

Roughly 30 minutes after that, three 13-year-old girls were approached by a man driving a small white car with loud music playing walking on King Street in Wilmington. According to one of the witnesses, the car’s tires had some sort of white stripe around them.

The man stopped and told the group of girls that there was a coyote in the woods and he would bring them home safely. The girls refused while the man continued to insist he drive them home. The girls ran off and the man got out of his car but went back when one of the young girls screamed “kidnapper” while she ran away. The girls described the man as white with brownish hair, with a curl or flip in the front and short on the sides.

The following day, July 13, a 12-year-old girl was approached by a man in a small white car, who asked to give the girl a ride. The man left when she refused.

The car was described as noisy or squeaky. The girl described the man as around 35-years-old, possibly Hispanic, with a beard.
