A former Winchendon pop warner coach has been arrested for possession of child pornography.
On Feb. 11, a search warrant executed by Homeland Security and the Mass. State Police led to the arrest of Kenneth Burak, 52, according to Winchendon Police.
Police said the search warrant was the result of an investigation by the State Police Computer Crimes Unit and the Department of Homeland Security in Boston.
Winchendon Police assisted in securing the scene during the search and provided transportation after Burak was arrested.
According to police, Burak’s computer contained images of young boys and girls.
Burak has no criminal record.
Matt Connor, a former coach, said the community is stunned.
"Being around him every day, seeing him interact with the kids, its definitely nothing that any of the parents or the other coaches would have expected," he said.
According to a State Police report, which said a federal undercover investigation last October, Burak used the Kik messenger app to post six sexual images of girls aged 1 to 3 online in a chat room marked "infants." After tracing the IP address, police got a search warrant and seized Burak’s smartphone and laptop.
The State Police report said police found "numerous digital image and video files depicting very young prepubescent children and toddlers either being sexually abused or posed nude in a lascivious manner."
As a condition of his release, Burak is required to stay away from children under 16 and cannot go online.
