A winter weather advisory is in effect from Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning.
A wintry mix of snow and rain is expected, with gusting winds around 50 miles per hour.
By 10 p.m., several towns had up to 1.5 inches of snow.
Snow will then transition to a period of sleet and freezing rain during the evening hours, finally turning to rain after midnight.

Cold surfaces will quickly become slippery during the period of snow and sleet.
Even though temperatures will rise above freezing after midnight, ground temperatures will be below freezing which will contribute to icy conditions for in the overnight hours.
