Brrr… A frigid start this morning as temps are barely above 0 in Boston and 5 to 10 below zero in many towns inland. Factor in the wind, and wind chills run -10 to -15 across the board. At least we have the sunshine right? That sun will fade a bit behind some increased cloud cover midday and this afternoon with highs in mid to upper teens.
Let’s talk turkey… The snow flakes are plastered all over the 7day and many are asking how much and when.
Saturday: Scattered snow showers, generally about 1″.
Sunday: Snow will be steady at times, especially north of the Mass Pike. 1-3″ South of the Pike, 3-6″ North of the Pike with the highest totals across northern Mass and Southern New Hampshire.
Monday: The steadiest snow day for all… perhaps another 6″ widespread.
Tuesday: Snow should wrap up in the morning with maybe another 1-2″ early.
While it’ll turn windy at the coast Monday, gusts 30-40mph, the duration of strong winds aren’t long and tides are on the astronomically low side, so coastal flooding does not appear to be a significant issue with this system.
