Harlan County, Ky (WHDH) — Rushing to the rescue a Kentucky woman became an unlikely hero.

Ariel Boggs is nine months pregnant, but that didn’t stop her from taking action to save a man’s life.

Boggs was stopped in traffic waiting for a crew to move a double wide trailer, when suddenly she saw a crew member grip a power line, and go up in flames.

Boggs immediately got out of her car, scaled a ladder, and administered CPR, a skill she had only learned three days before.

“I’m glad that I had that class and I’m just glad that knowledge stuck with me and I was able to do exactly what I did,” said Boggs. “Feeling his heartbeat and knowing that I helped give him that back, that means a lot to me.”

The victim was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.

Boggs is scheduled for a C-section Monday.
