A woman is facing charges for allegedly texting while driving, but officers also found valuable stolen coins in her car.

Lynn Jones, 46, of South Dennis, is facing charges of possession of a class E drug, operating a car with a suspended license, texting while driving and felony receiving stolen property more than $250, according to police.

At around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, an officer spotted Jones in her car stopped at a stop sign on Old Townhouse Road at West Yarmouth Road. Police say Jones was texting on her cell phone.

Police stopped Jones’s car and they say she admitted texting.

Police say she was driving with a suspended license for not paying child support. Jones, who has 91 previous criminal charges, was arrested.

Officers also found eight coin boxes inside Jones’s car, including gold and silver coins. Police seized the coins and towed the car.

Police believe the coins were stolen.

Police also found a knife clipped to Jones’s pocket along with two pills identified as gabapentin.

Jones was scheduled for arraignment in court on Friday.
