LOWELL, MASS. (WHDH) - Authorities have identified 44-year-old Gloribel Orengo as the woman who died following a fight outside a party in Lowell.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office says it is investigating the death of Orengo as a homicide.

Authorities say Orengo was one of several people involved in a fight outside a home after being asked to leave a party.

Orengo’s family, grieving what they say was an unnecessary fight and loss of a loved one, say Orengo was beaten right in front of her special needs son.

“I’m very angry that someone would stoop that low,” said Jaslyn Rosario, Orengo’s niece.

Lowell Police ask anyone with information that could help the investigation to contact them.
