WOONOCKET, R.I. (AP) — Police say they have caught up with a driver who struck a tow truck operator a month ago and then left the scene without stopping to check on his condition.
Emily Lowe is facing a charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing serious injury in connection with the incident in the early morning hours of June 30 in Woonsocket.
Police say the Cumberland woman struck the tow truck operator as he was tending to a disabled vehicle and had his emergency lights on. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The 27-year-old Lowe was arrested last week after an investigation.
Lowe is free on $10,000 bail and is due back in court Oct. 30. No defense attorney was listed in court records.
