A woman in Portland, Oregon bought an Ipad as a gift and instead, received a big chunk of metal.

Marilyn Clint bought a 6 hundred dollar Ipad Air 2 at Fred Meyer as a birthday present for her sister.

When her sister opened the gift, all that was there was a piece of metal, duct taped to the inside of the sealed box.

Marilyn says her sister spoke with customer service and Apple, and was told it must’ve happened at the factory before it was shipped.

They returned it to Fred Meyer and managers quickly made it right.

“They were as shocked as I was at Fred Meyer. So I don’t think they’ve seen this before. The manager of the store said immediately the thieves are getting
so good they can seal things back up. The box was absolutely sealed,” said Clint.

It was done so well, she thinks some type of professional theft ring is behind it.

Now, Clint is warning other shoppers to open up their packages in the store, "I just advise people, don’t take it for granted. Even if it looks factory sealed, open it up at the store."
