An Arizona couple was fishing for fate after losing their wedding ring while diving in Hawaii in 2013.

The couple said they searched for a long time, but they never found it.

Until a year later when a Portland woman happened to be snorkeling along the same beach, and found the couple’s missing treasure.

"It didn’t even look like jewelry at the time, it was all covered with calcium,it was green,” Marcy Lantz said. “Well, it took a couple days to clean it up and then we saw there was an inscription in there, and it had the wedding date and the names David and Mary."

Lantz said she created a social media campaign to find the owner, but it wasn’t until it aired on The Today Show that the ring was recognized, and then returned.
