BOSTON (WHDH) – Police are looking for two persons of interest connected with the assault and robbery of a female inside the Haymarket T station last week.

On Jan. 6 at 11 p.m., a male approached the victim as she was walking from the Green Line to the Orange Line. He stated that he was armed with a firearm and then proceeded to assault and rob her.

According to surveillance video, the suspect slammed the woman against the wall and eventually onto the ground.

The assailant fled the station after taking $2 from the victim.

The man in question was seen with a white female earlier and police are looking for the identities of either person.

MBTA riders that frequently use the station said that the tunnel where the incident occurred is not safe at night. They’re hoping that this will cause the organization to take some action.

"I would feel safer, considering that I travel alone, to have someone patrolling the area, especially down in the bottom. They had a security camera but it didn't do much,” said one rider.

If anybody has any information, they are asked to contact the Transit Police Criminal Investigations Unit at (617) 222-1050 or anonymously via their text a tip line at 873873.
