A little boy is back home after a quick-thinking woman saved him from an alleged kidnapping in Texas.
Courtney Best said she was at work at a pizzeria in Corpus Christi when she decided to go out front for her smoke break instead of out back like she usually does. Best said she was looking at her phone when she got an Amber Alert notification for a white Dodge Avenger. As she did that, she noticed a white car pull into the parking lot.
"The man was walking across the parking lot looking at me, because I was the only person out here," said Best. "But the little boy, the little boy looked scared and I was like, no, that's not him."
The man and child went into the dollar store next to the pizzeria and Best said instinct told her she had to do something. Best checked the car's license plate and saw it matched with the plate number in the Amber Alert. She then called 911.
The man was arrested and the boy was returned to his family. Best said she is still shocked things worked out because she rarely pays attention to Amber Alert notifications but knew she had to do something this time.
