A Westford woman is okay after a chunk of metal came crashing through her windshield Thursday.
It happened when the 59-year-old woman was traveling down Route 495 S in Chelmsford just before 5 p.m.
State police say this should serve as a reminder to drivers to secure materials as they are driving.
They say the chunk of metal fell off of a truck and somehow got picked up by another truck, sending it flying through the air.
The chunk got lodged into the driver’s side window of the woman’s Mitsubishi.
State police say debris in the road is all too common. They received two calls on Thursday for reports of objects in the road around the same area, one being a ladder on the highway.
