WORCESTER, Mass. (WHDH) — After witnessing a driver who appeared to be having medical issues on Wednesday, 26-year-old Anthony Rodriguez jumped into action

“While he was having a seizure he put his feet on the gas so I was trying to stop the car and put my feet on the brake,” Rodriguez said.

All Rodriquez said he thought of was stopping the car before someone got killed.

“I feel like I was lucky because I don’t feel like if I would have jumped off the car at the right time I probably would have been under the car,” he said.

Police worked to piece together the crash for several hours before the car was towed away. Rodriguez is recovering from bumps and bruises now but no breaks. A Worcester police sergeant also suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.

“I’m glad that the officer is OK and I hope he’s fine and I’m glad that I didn’t get injured,” he said.

The driver of that car was later arrested and charged with operating under the influence of narcotics.
