Two women were arrested in Worcester on Friday after members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad found a backpack with oxycodone pills and thousands of dollars in cash.

According to police, the Vice Squad had a search warrant for King Street, where 24-year-old Sheyla Montalvo and 29-year-old Natasha Riley-Murphy lived.

When officers entered the apartment, they found a 39-year-old woman with three young children, ages six, five and three.

According to police, the apartment was in deplorable condition and it was infested with mice. At one point, according to officers, a cat came out from under the sink with a live mouse in its mouth.

After searching the apartment, officers found a backpack with 99 pills of oxycodone and $3,382 in cash. They also found two bags of marijuana and three cell phones in the backpack.

Throughout the apartment, officers found packaging materials, hundreds of cut corner baggies, two more cell phones, and an additional $170 in cash.

Police found one bag of cocaine on Riley-Murphy.

Due to the living conditions of the apartment, officers contacted the Department of Children and Families. DCF took custody of the three children.

According to police, the six and three-year old belong to Montalvo, while the five-year-old is a relative of Montalvo that was visiting.

Montalvo and Riley-Murphy were arrested and charged with trafficking a Class B substance, drug violation within 100 feet of a park, and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act.

Riley-Murphy was also charged with possession of a class B substance and possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute.

Montalvo and Riley-Murphy will be arraigned on Monday at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
