Worcester Police are investigating after a livery driver was shot multiple times.

On March 25 around 1:20 a.m., police were dispatched to the parking lot area of 136 Country Club Boulevard for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they learned the victim was a 50-year-old man.

The victim was found in the drivers seat of the livery car, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the livery driver picked up two men on Acton Street who asked to be dropped off near the back of Lincoln Village.

When the car stopped, one of the men got out of the car and approached the driver. The man pulled out a handgun and demanded money, police said. The man began to shoot the driver and the driver accelerated and then came to a stop.

The suspects were not able to take any money or personal property from the victim. They then ran away.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20’s, medium build, 5’5" tall with dark hair.

The second suspect is described as being a white or Hispanic man, mid-20’s, 5’10" tall with long dark hair.

An investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 508-799-8651.
